ghost town
On a rocky cliff by the sea stood a lighthouse that hadn’t been used in decades. The locals called it "The Lost Lighthouse" because, long ago, its light had gone out, and no one knew why. Ships avoided the area, and the town had since become a forgotten corner of the coast.
One stormy night, a fisherman named Tom was caught in the worst storm of his life. His boat was being tossed around like a leaf, and he couldn’t see through the sheets of rain. As he struggled to steer toward the shore, a strange, faint light appeared in the distance.
It was the lighthouse.
Desperate, Tom steered toward it, hoping the light would guide him home. As he got closer, the waves calmed, and his boat drifted safely into the harbor. Once ashore, Tom looked up at the lighthouse, puzzled. He had heard it had been dark for years.
Determined to find out what had happened, Tom climbed the steep path leading to the lighthouse. The door creaked open, and inside, dust covered every surface. But at the top, where the great light should have been, stood a woman in a flowing, silver dress. Her eyes glowed softly, like the lighthouse itself.
"Who are you?" Tom asked, startled.
The woman smiled gently. "I am the keeper of lost things—lost ships, lost souls, and sometimes, lost hope. Tonight, you were lost, and I found you."
With that, she turned back to the light, which flickered once before fading away again. Tom returned to the village, his heart full of questions. No one believed him, but the legend of the Lost Lighthouse grew once more, and some say that on stormy nights, its light still shines for those who need it most.
